Dearest Reader,
This past weekend I visited my awesome boyfriend, Jeffrey, in Kentucky for a few short, but well-spent days. We went on a triple date, exchanged Valentines presents, spent some quality time one-on-one, and had some great conversations. It's been such a blessing to be with him and grow closer to him the past few months and I could speak for hours on the subject, but that's not the purpose of this blog. Still, I'm excited beyond what words can say to see what God could/will do with this relationship.
This week since I've gotten back has been pretty busy. Every morning and night I am meeting with someone, as well as working throughout the day. This Sunday, my day of rest, will be much appreciated!
Today, I've been reading two things. One is the book of Esther, which is an amazing journey for me. I love reading through the Old Testament because there is such a wealth of metaphorical knowledge. God is always using these situations to reveal something about Himself.
Secondly, I'm reading a book by Mark and Grace Driscoll called Real Marriage, which talks about a multitude of subjects surrounding marriage. So far this book has been a real blessing to me, because the writing style is so honest and helpful. I'd like to add this book to my previous suggestions for anyone wanting some more insight on marriage! It's super good!
Lastly, today I've just been praying for my friend and myself on the crucial subject of what we want to be when we "grow up". It seems like we're both in the same spot. Both of us don't feel compelled to go to college right now (and no, this is not a decision out of laziness, but one of a financial responsibility), both of us are working full time jobs we're not too thrilled with, and both of us long to see what the Lord has planned. For me, I know He desires for me to disciple young women and care for women and children in general, but more specifically those of a middle school age. Unfortunately, neither of us have a clue as to what that looks like.
I wouldn't say I refuse to move anywhere until He calls, because I'm willing to be put anywhere and until then I'm going to prepare in whatever way I can. Some things I plan to do is pick up music again, because it was something I always loved, but didn't stay consistent with. The second thing is obviously staying constant with reading Scripture and growing in the Lord. Lastly, I plan to try new things. Some of them are learning to cook, play piano, babysitting more, doing more outreach, etc. My plan is that hopefully in doing those things I'll find a calling, and if not I'll only be possibly preparing myself for what He does call me too.
Please pray with me and my friend, Leandra! I hope you'll rejoice with us when He answers (cause He always does)!
Love,
Chelsy.
