To Those Who Refuse To Stand Up

Dear Reader,
I had an assignment today in my Introduction to Christian Theology class that challenged me to go a step further than the assignment. We had to watch a ten minute video that was taken from a movie about the Holocaust and respond to it. The video is called "God on Trial: The Verdict" and is about people from the Holocaust accusing God of breaking His covenant with Israel.
After watching the video, another in the side column caught my attention. It was entitled "Betrand Russell on God" and as I watched it yet another video caught my eye, "Einstein on God". These "great minds" were also devout atheists. Now, Christians, I don't believe we should have to "sell" God or be bible scholars in a way that we are always arguing with others. There must be a point when we know the truth, embrace it, and live with childlike love. However, some arguments become contagious lies, and they spread even into our churches.
Therefore, I think it is extremely important that we know how to defeat lies and move on, do you see? We should always be growing in knowledge, never letting enough be enough in the way that it feeds our faith. Because the more we learn about God, the more we should see His character and the more the cross grows in importance.
So when I see these videos, especially the first, it's the atheist's amen, and even the strongest believer's point of doubt and disheartening. Take up your sword daily and let us be full of the good news of Christ. Still, listen to other's views and do not just dismiss them right away, but jump into the thought behind it and wonder why someone could think that way.
I think the most powerful statement to many arguments of atheism is, "Then where is our purpose, where is our hope?" We don't simply believe in a God because it brings hope, we believe Him because He is true and there is hope in that, Amen?

Chelsy.
